Kempfort Shiva Temple – Bangalore

Anyone who lives in Bangalore knows about Kempfort. Yes, its one of the most popular landmarks in Bangalore. And if you are visiting Bangalore then its a must visit. We are talking about Kempfort Shiva Temple.


Kempfort Shiva Temple has a 65 feet tall statue of Lord Shiva seated in Lotus position, with a backdrop of Himalayas and surrounded by a pond which symbolizes the revered lake, the Mansoravar.

This temple was opened in 1995 and since then its popularity has been growing. Visitors also come to touch the healing stone in the temple, which is believed to have curative powers. There temple also has a big Ganpati statue at the entrance.

Mondays are special as the day belongs to lord Shiva and hence a special “puja” is performed on mondays and bhajans during the evening time.

A must visit if you are in Bangalore. It also has a big shopping mall in front of the Kempfort Shiva Temple . Infact this temple is hidden behind the shopping complex. There is a small cave like entrance from on the left hand side which will take you to the temple.

How to reach Kempfort Shiva Temple:

This temple is located on “old airport road” and is itself a landmark and hence can easily be reached from any part of the city.

  1. It is a huge Shiva idol which is hidden behind the total mall. This is definitely a very impressive place and wish it was visible from the mail road.
