Ekadashi Mythological Story – Why is rice not eaten on Ekadashi? You will be surprised to know the reason

Ekadashi Mythological Story – Why is rice not eaten on Ekadashi?. .. Our country is the land of legends. There are many mythological stories which interests us. One such story is about fasting on Ekadashi… I found this beautiful story while doing some research on this topic. Hope you will find this article interesting.

There are some special rules on the day of Ekadashi. It is said that you should not to eat rice on this day. Do you know what is the reason behind the belief of not eating rice on the day of Ekadashi.

Ekadashi Mythological Story

Ekadashi fast comes twenty four times in a year. This day is considered to be of special importance in Hinduism. Lord Vishnu is worshiped on Ekadashi, hence Ekadashi is also called Hari Vasar or Hari’s day.

According to Puranas, the person who fasts on this day never faces any crisis in his life. There are some special rules for fasting on this day. Even if you are not fasting on Ekadashi, then it is very important to take care of some special things on this day.

One of these is not to eat rice on the day of Ekadashi. But do you know what is the reason behind the belief of not eating rice on the day of Ekadashi ?

Why rice is not eaten on this day?

According to the scriptures, fasting on Ekadashi is done with the aim of controlling the senses so that the mind can be kept pure and concentrated.

Mythology of Ekdashi

There is a legend that while running away from the anger of Ma Shakti, Maharishi Medha left his body with the power of yoga and merged into the earth.

It is said later that Maharishi Medha took birth on earth in the form of rice and barley. It is believed that this incident happened on Ekadashi. Barley and rice are considered to be the medha power of Maharishi, who is a living being.

This is the reason why barley and rice have been considered as living beings.

Even today, barley and rice do not even require soil to grow. They germinate only by sprinkling water. Considering them as living beings, they have been refrained from taking Ekadashi as food, so that the fast of Vishnu Swaroop can be completed sattvic.

#7 Triveni Sangam Prayagraj

In Hindu tradition, Triveni Sangam is the confluence (Sanskrit: संगाम) of three rivers that is also a holy place, with a bath here said to wash away one’s sins and free one from the cycle of rebirth.

The Triveni Sangam is the confluence of the Ganges (Ganga), the Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati river.

At the Triveni Sangam, the Ganga and the Yamuna can be distinguished by their different colors – the Ganga’s water is clear while the Yamuna’s is green. The third river, the legendary Saraswati, is said to be invisible.

The auspiciousness of the confluence of the two rivers is mentioned in the Rigveda, which states, “Those who bathe at the place where two rivers, white and dark, flow together, rise to heaven.”

A place of religious importance and one of the sites of the historic Kumbh Mela held every 12 years, it has also been the site of immersion of ashes of several national leaders including Mahatma Gandhi in 1949.

#8 Shri Bade Hanuman Mandir

This temple is believed to be at least 600-700 years old. It is said that the king of Kannauj had no children. His guru told as a solution, ‘ Get such a statue made of Hanumanji who went to Patal to free Ram Laxman from the snake noose.

This idol of Hanumanji should be brought from Vindhyachal mountain.’ When the king of Kannauj did the same and he brought the idol of Hanumanji from Vindhyachal by boat. Then suddenly the boat broke and this statue got submerged. The king was very sad to see this and he returned to his kingdom.

Many years after this incident, when the water level of the Ganga decreased, Baba Balagiri Maharaj, a devotee of Ram, who was trying to establish a Dhuni there, found this statue. Then after that the temple was built by the king there.

In ancient times, on the orders of the Mughal rulers, the process of demolishing Hindu temples was going on, but here the Mughal soldiers could not even move the statue of Hanumanji. As they tried to lift the statue, that statue was sitting more and more in the earth. This is the reason why this statue is made so low from the ground.

The deity of Lord Vishnu is worshiped at the Beni Madhav Temple located at Daraganj in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. The temple comprises a shrine where the deity of Radha Krishna made of black stone is enshrined.

Bhojeshwar temple shiva linga

Bhojeshwar temple Bhopal – The unfinished Marvel!

Bhojpur, which is around 28 kilometres from Bhopal, is well-known as an archaeological site and is known for the spectacular Shiva Temple and Cyclopean Dam ruins. The Shiva Temple, also known as the Bhojeshwar Temple, has acquired the name as “Somnath of the East.”

It is said that the Bhojeshwar temple was founded by the Parmar king of Dhar, Shri Raja Bhoj (1010-53) and was named after him.

Dedicated to Lord Shiva , it is said to have a 7.5ft high Shiva Linga.

The Paramara king Bhoj is thought to have initiated the temple’s construction in the eleventh century. The building construction was abandoned for an unidentified reason. The architectural designs are inscribed on the nearby rocks. Scholars have been able to better grasp the 11th-century India’s temple construction methods because to the incomplete materials left at the site, the architectural designs cut into the rocks, and the masonry marks.

The Archaeological Survey of India has recognised the temple as a Monument of National Importance (ASI).

Although the temple is incomplete, the temple has a spectacular rising strength of line and is supported by four pillars. It is a simple square with an outside area of 66 feet.

The pillars, like the dome, are huge, but their tapering form gives them a unique grace. A 24-faced segment emerges from the lowest of the three divisions, an octagon with 2.12 feet of facets.

The two superbly sculpted figures that stand on either side of the doorway are in strong contrast to the doorway, which is elaborately carved from above and plain from below. The three other sides are balconies, each supported by four ornately carved pillars and large brackets.

The sanctum’s lingam rises to an impressive height of 7.5 feet and measures 17.8 feet in circumference. The architectural harmony of the lingam and platform produces a wonderful combination of strength and lightness.

The platform is a gigantic 21.5 feet square platform built of three layered limestone slabs. The earthen ramp that was used to raise the temple to dome level still stands since it was never finished for an unknown reason.

If it had been finished, it unquestionably would have been a work of art unique to its kind and without precedent anywhere in the world.

The temple stands as one of the finest examples of temple architecture of the12th and 13th century.

A Jain shrine that is near to the Bhojeshwar temple is also unfinished and has a similar stone raising ramp. One 20-foot-tall enormous statue in this shrine houses three images of the tirthankaras: one of Mahavira and two of Parsvanath.

There was once a sizable lake west of Bhojpur, but all that is left today are the remnants of the majestic old dams that kept its water in. The location was carefully chosen since, with the exception of two gaps, a natural wall of hills surrounded the entire area. A 250 square mile area of water was supported by the embankments.

This great work is ascribed to Raja Bhoj, but it may possible be of an earlier date.

Mahaveer bhagwan ka chalisa

Please find the Doha, Chaupai and Sortha below.

Om Sai Namah !

Shri Sai baba Chalisa In English

Pehle Sai ke charno mein, apna sheesh nivauo maiy,
Kaise Shirdi Sai aaye, saara haal sunau maiy. ||1||

Koee kahe Ayodhya ke, yeh Ramchandra bhagvan hain,
Koee kehta Saibaba, pavan putra Hanuman hain. ||3||

Koee kehta mangal murti, Shri Gajanan hain Sai,
Koee kehta Gokul-Mohan Devki Nandan hain Sai. ||4||

Shanker samajh bhakt kaee to, baba ko bhajhte rahte,
Koee kahe avtar datt ka, pooja Sai ki karte. ||5||

Kuch bhi mano unko tum, pur sai hain sachche bhagvan,
Bade dayalu deen-bandhu, kitno ko diya jivan-daan. ||6||

Kaee varsh pehle ki ghatna, tumhe sunaunga mein baat,
Keesy bhagyashaali ki Shirdi mein aaee thi barat. ||7||

Aaya saath usi ke tha, baalak aik bahut sunder,
Aaya aaker vahin bus gaya, paavan Shirdi kiya nagar. ||8||

Kaee dino tak raha bhatakta, bhiksha maangi usne dar dar,
Aur dikhaee aisee leela, jug mein jo ho gaee amar. ||9||

Jaise-jaise umar badi, badti hee vaisy gaee shaan,
Ghar ghar hone laga nagar mein, Sai baba kaa gungaan. ||10||

Digdigant mein laga goonjane, phir to Saiji ka naam,
Deen-dhukhi ki raksha karna, yahi raha baba ka kaam. ||11||

Baba ke charno mein ja kar, jo kehta mein hoo nirdhan,
Daya usee par hoti unkee, khul jaate dhukh ke bandhan. ||12||

Kabhi kisee ne maangi bhiksha, do baba mujhko suntaan,

Swayam dhukhi baba ho jaate, deen-dukhijan ka lukh haal,
Anteh: karan bhi Sai ka, sagar jaisa raha vishal. ||14||

Bhakt ek madrasi aaya, ghar ka bahut bada dhanvaan,
Maal khajana behadh uskaa, keval nahi rahi suntaan. ||15||

Laga manane Sainath ko, baba mujh per daya karo,

Kuldeepak ke bina andhera, chchaya hua ghar mein mere,
Isee liye aaya hoon baba, hokar sharnagat tere. ||17||

Kuldeepak ke abhav mein, vyarth hai daulat ki maya,
Aaj bhikhari ban kar baba, sharan tumhari mein aaya, ||18||

De de mujhko putra-daan, mein rini rahoonga jivan bhar,

Anunaye-vinaye bahut ki usne, charano mein dhar ke sheesh,
Tub prasana hokar baba ne, diya bhakta ko yeh aashish. ||20||

‘Allah bhala karega tera,’ putra janam ho tere ghar,
Kripa rahegi tum per uski, aur tere uss balak per. ||21||

Putra ratan de madrasi ko, dhanya kiya uska sansaar. ||22||

Tan-man se jo bhaje usi ka jug mein hota hai uddhar,
Sanch ko aanch nahi haiy koee, sada jooth ki hoti haar. ||23||

Mein hoon sada sahare uske, sada rahoonga uska daas,
Sai jaisa prabhu mila haiy, itni ki kum haiy kya aas. ||24||

Mera bhi din tha ik aisa, milti nahi mujhe thi roti,

Durdin mera mere ooper, davagani barsata tha. ||26||

Dharti ke atirikt jagat mein, mera kuch avalumbh na tha,
Bana bhikhari maiy duniya mein, dar dar thokar khata tha. ||27||

Aise mein ik mitra mila jo, param bhakt Sai ka tha,

Baba ke darshan ke khatir, mil dono ne kiya vichaar,
Sai jaise daya murti ke darshan ko ho gaiye taiyar. ||29||

Paavan Shirdi nagari mein ja kar, dhekhi matvaali murti,
Dhanya janam ho gaya ki humne jab dhekhi Sai ki surti. ||30||

Jabse kiye hai darshan humne, dukh sara kaphur ho gaya,
Sankat saare mite aur vipdaon ka ant ho gaya. ||31||

Baba ne sammaan diya haiy, maan diya is jivan mein,

Sai ki leela ka mere, mun par aisa assar hua,
Lagta, jagti ke kan-kan mein, jaise ho veh bhara hua. ||34||

‘Kashiram’ baba ka bhakt, iss Shirdi mein rehta tha,
Maiy Sai ka Sai mera, veh duniya se kehta tha. ||35||

Seekar svayam vastra bechta, gram nagar bazaro mein,

Stabdh nisha thi, thay soye, rajni aanchal me chand sitare,
Nahi soojhta raha hath ka, hath timiri ke mare. ||37||

Vastra bech kar lote raha tha, hai! Haath se ‘kaashi’,
Vichitr bada sanyoga ki uss din aata tha veh akaki. ||38||

Gher raah mein khare ho gaye, usse kutil, anyaayi,
Maaro kaato looto iski, hee dhvani pari sunaee. ||39||

Bahut der tak para raha veh, vahin usi halat mein,
Jaane kab kuch hosh ho utha, usko kisi palak mein. ||41||

Jiski prati dhvani Shirdi mein, baba ko parri sunai. ||42||

Shubdh utha ho manas unka, baba gaye vikal ho,
Lagta jaise ghatna sari, ghati unhi ke sunmukh ho. ||43||

Unmadi se idhar udhar tab, baba lage bhatakne,
Sunmukh chizein jo bhi aiee, unkoo lage patkne. ||44||

Aur dhadhakte angaro mein, baba ne kar dala,
Huye sashankit sabhi vaha, lakh tandav nritya nirala. ||45||

Samajh gaye sab log ki koi, bhakt para sankat mein,
Shubit khare thai sabhi vaha par, pare huye vismaiye mein. ||46||

Usse bachane ke hi khatir, baba aaj vikal hai,
Uski hi piraa se pirit, unka ant sthal hai. ||47||

Itne me hi vidhi ne apni, vichitrata dhikhlayi,
Lukh kar jisko janta ko, shradha sarita lehrayee. ||48||

Lekar sanghya heen bhakt ko, gaari ek vaha aayee,
Sunmukh apne dekh bhakt ko, Sai ki aankhe bhar aayee. ||49||

Aaj daya ki murti svayum tha bana hua upchaari,
Aur bhakt ke liye aaj tha, dev bana prati haari. ||51||

Aaj bhakti ki vishum pariksha mein, safal hua tha Kaashi,
Uske hee darshan ki khatir, thai umre nagar-nivasi. ||52||

Jab bhi aur jahan bhi koyee, bhakt pare sankat mein,
Uski raksha karne baba jate hai pulbhur mein. ||53||

Yug yug ka hai satya yeh, nahi koi nayee kahani,
Aapat grast bhakt jab hota, jate khudh antar yami. ||54||

Bhedh bhaav se pare pujari manavta ke thai sai,
Jitne pyare Hindu-Muslim uutne hi Sikh Isai. ||55||

Bhed bhaav mandir masjid ka tor phor baba ne dala,
Ram rahim sabhi unke thai, Krishan Karim Allah Tala. ||56||

Mile paraspar Hindu Muslim, pyar bada din din doona. ||57||

Chamatkar tha kitna sundar, parichaye iss kaya ne dee,
Aur neem karvahat mein bhi mithaas baba ne bhar dee. ||58||

Sabko sneha diya Sai ne, sabko suntul pyar kiya,
Jo kuch jisne bhi chaha, baba ne usko vahi diya. ||59||

Aise snehsheel bhajan ka, naam sada jo japa kare,

Sai jaisa daata humne, aare nahi dekha koi,
Jiske keval darshan se hee, saari vipda door gayee. ||61||

Tan mein Sai, man mein Sai, Sai bhajha karo,
Apne tan ki sudh budh khokur, sudh uski tum kiya karo. ||62||

Jab tu apni sudh tajkur, baba ki sudh kiya karega,
Aur raat din baba, baba, baba hi tu rata karega. ||63||

To baba ko aare! vivash ho, sudh teri leni hee hogi,
Teri har icha baba ko, puree hee karni hogi. ||64||

Dhanya jagat mein prani hai veh, jisne baba ko paya,
Dukh mein sukh mein prahar aath ho, sai ka hee gune gaya. ||66||

Gire sankat ke parvat, chahe bijli hi toot pare,
Sai ka le naam sada tum, sunmukh sub ke raho arre. ||67||

Iss budhe ki sunn karamat, tum ho jaoge hairaan,
Dang reh sunkar jisko, jane kitne chatur sujaan. ||68||

Ek baar Shirdi mein sadhu dhongi tha koi aaya,
Bholi bhali nagar nivasi janta ko tha bharmaya. ||69||

Jari, butiyan unhe dhikha kar, karne laga vaha bhashan,
Kehne laga sunno shrotagan, ghar mera hai vrindavan. ||70||

Aushadhi mere paas ek hai, aur ajab iss mein shakti,Sai Tu Hi Tu Jagriti Mision
Iske sevan karne se hi, ho jaati dukh se mukti. ||71||

Aggar mukta hona chaho tum, sankat se bimari se,
To hai mera numra nivaidan, har nar se har nari se, ||72||

Lo kharid tum isko, sevan vidhiyan hai nyari,
Yadyapi tuch vastu hai yeh, gun uske hai atisheh bhari. ||73||

Jo hai suntaan heen yeh yadi, meri aushdhi ko khaye,
Putra ratan ho parapat, aare aur veh mooh manga phal paye. ||74||

Aushadh meri jo na kharide, jeevan bhar pachtayega,
Mujh jaisa prani shayad hi, aare yaha aa payega. ||75||

Duniya do din ka mela hai, mauj shaunk tum bhi kar lo,

Hairani barti janta ki, lakh iski kaarastaani,
Pramudit veh bhi man hi man tha, lakh logo ki nadani. ||77||

Khabar suna ne baba ko yeh, gaya daud kar sevak ek,
Sun kar bhukuti tani aur, vismaran ho gaya sabhi vivek. ||78||

Hukum diya sevak ko, satvar pakar dusht ko lao,

Mere rehte bholi bhali, shirdi ki janta ko,
Kaun neech aisa jo, sahas karta hai chalne ko. ||80||

Pulbhur mai hi aise dhongi, kapti neech lootere ko,
Maha naash ke maha gart mein, phahuncha doon jivan bhar ko. ||81||

Tanik mila aabhaas madari, krur kutil anyayi ko,
Kaal nachta hai ab sir par, gussa aaya Sai ko. ||82||

Pal bhar mein sab khel bandh kar, bhaga sir par rakh kar pairr,
Socha tha sabh hi ab, bhagvan nahi hai ab khair. ||83||

Such hai Sai jaisa daani, mil na sakega jag mein,

Vahi jeet leta hai jagti, ke jan jan ka anthsthal,
Uski ek udasi hi jag ko kar deti hai vrihal. ||86||

Jab jab jug mein bhar paap ka bar bar ho jaata hai,
Usse mita ne ke hi khatir, avtari ho aata hai. ||87||

Paap aur anyaya sabhi kuch, iss jagti ka har ke,
Duur bhaga deta duniya ke danav ko shan bhar mein. ||88||

Sneh sudha ki dhar barasne, lagti hai duniya mein,
Gale paraspar milne lagte, jan jan hai aapas mein. ||89||

Aisse hee avtari Sai, mrityulok mein aakar,
Samta ka yeh paath paraya, sabko apna aap mitakar. ||90||

Naam dwarka masjid ka , rakha Shirdi ne,
Haap taap, suntaap mitaya, jo kuch aaya Sai ne. ||91||

Sada yaad mein mast ram ki, baithe rehte thai Sai,
Peher aath hee naam ram ka, bhajte rehte thai Sai. ||92||

Sookhee rookhee tazi baasi, chahe ya hovai pakvaan,
Sada pyar ke bhooke Sai ke, khatir thai sabhi samaan. ||93||

Kabhi kabhi man behlane ko, baba baag mein jate thay,
Pramudit man nirukh prakrati, chatta ko veh hote thay. ||95||

Rang-birange pushp baag ke manam manam hil dul karke,
Beehar birane man mein bhi sneh salil bhar jate thai. ||96||

Aise su-madhur bela mein bhi, dukh aafat bipda kai maare,
Apne man ki vyatha sunane, jan rehte baba ko ghere. ||97||

Sunkar jinki karun katha ko, nayan kamal bhar aate thay,

Jaane kya adhbut, shakti, uuss vibhuti mein hoti thi,

Dhanya manuj veh sakshaat darshan, jo baba Sai ke paye,
Dhanya kamal kar unke jinse, charan kamal veh parsai. ||100||

Kaash nirbhaiy tumko bhi, saakshat Sai mil jaata,
Varshon se ujra chaman apna, phir se aaj khil-jata. ||101||

Gar pakar mein charan shri ke, nahi chorta umar bhar,
Mana leta mein jaroor unko gar rooth te Sai mujh par!! ||102||

Shri Sai baba Chalisa In Hindi

Legend behind Shri Sundarnarayan temple

Its a Lord Vishnu’s temple and the reason for the name “Sunder” is that, he once became ugly by the curse given by Jalandar’s (wicked demon) wife Vrinda .

Due to this curse, Lord Vishnu turned black and ugly.

He then took bath in river Godavari and thus was relieved from the curse. Hence Lord Vishnu is called as Shri Sundar Narayan here.

Santoshi Mata Katha vidhi

Santoshi Mata Ki Vrat Katha |

( Santoshi Mata Ki Jai ) |

Keesaragutta Temple – Keesara Village, Medchal-Malkajgiri District – Telangana

Keesaragutta Temple is of immense historical and mythological importance.

Keesaragutta Temple is dedicated to Lord Siva and his consorts Bhavani and Sivadurga at Keesaragutta in Rangareddy district which is near hyderabad in Medchal-Malkajgiri District .

It is about 30 km from the city of Hyderabad. It is located on a small hillock. The temple draws thousands of devotees on Shivaratri. The temples is also known by the name Shri Ramalingeswara Swami.

keesaragutta temple history

As per leegend lord Sri Ram installed the Siva lingam here to atone for the sin of killing Ravana, a Brahman. He chose this beautiful valley, surrounded by hills and lush greenery.

He then requested Lord Hanuman to bring the Shivalingam from Varanasi.

When Lord Hanuman went on a search for the same, he was unable to choose which one to bring. His uncertainty in the matter caused a lot of delay.

So Lord Hanuman was late in arriving with the Siva lingam and as the auspicious hour was nearing, Lord Siva himself appeared before Sri Rama and presented a Sivilingam for installation.

This is the reason why the lingam in the temple is called Swayambhu Linga.

It is also called Ramalingeswara as Lord Sri Rama had installed this Shivalinga here.

Hanuman returned with 100 lingams for selection from Varanasi and felt aggrieved as was late.

He was greatly disappointed to see that a Lingam has already been installed. Agitated by this, he thew the Shiva Lingam in his hand on the ground. So now there were a total of 101 shiva lingams there.

Hence Sri Rama ordained that precedence would be given to him for worship at the temple.

He also said that the hillock where the lingam was installed will be called kesarigiri i.e, the son of Kesari , another name of Lord Hanuman…

Over a period of time, the name became Keesara and the hill was known as Keesaragutta.

Architecture of Keesaragutta Temple

Since lord Sri Rama had worshipped this Swayambumurthi the shivalinga is also called as Ramalingeshwara and is present in the sanctum sanctoram.

The temple also has shrines separately for Lord Lakshmi Narasimha and Lord Rama with ma Sita.

There were many excavations which were undertaked around this area by ASI ( archaeological survey of India ).

On the north of the temple remains of several Shiva Lingas and brick remnants were found.

The remains belonged to the rule of the Chalukyan Empire. Here, prayer halls, Yagasalas, and fortification walls were unearthed.

On the hills, some vestiges and rock-cut cisterns were discovered as proof that Jainism and Buddhism coexisted and thrived.

Twelve Jain Tirthankara idols from the fourth or fifth century that were discovered on October 18, 2014, close to the temple stairs at a depth of one foot demonstrate that Jainism and Hinduism co-existed at Keesaragutta during the reign of the Vishnukundinas in the fourth or fifth century.

Shri Naina Devi Temple Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh – shaktipeeth

Shri Naina Devi Temple is located at an elevation of 1177 metres in the Himachal Pradesh district of Bilaspur is one the very important religious places in Himachal.

Shri Naina Devi Temple is one of the 51 Shaktipeethas and is linked to several mythological stories.

The legend of Shri Naina Devi Temple Bilaspur

There are many legends sorrounding this temple.

As per one legend ( and the most popular one ) goddess Sati is said to have burned herself alive during a Yagna, which upset Lord Shiva. He took Sati’s body on his shoulder and began his Taandav dance.

All of the gods in heaven were terrified because this may lead to a worldwide catastrophe. Lord Vishnu was requested to use his Chakra to sever the Sati’s body into 51 pieces.

Sati’s eyes fell to the ground at Shri Naina Devi Temple.

Yet, another legend associated with the shrine is that of Naina, a Gujjar boy. He was grazing his cattle one day when he noticed a white cow dripping milk from her udders onto a stone.

For the next few days, he observed the same thing. He saw Goddess in her dreams one night while sleeping, and she told him that the stone was her Pindi.

Hence he informed the then king of the region raja Bir Chand . When Raja witnessed it unfold in real life, he built a temple on the place and named it Naina’s Temple.

There is another legend associated with this temple as well. It is said that the Goddess defeated the demon Mahishasur at this place, hence Shri Naina Devi Temple is also known as Mahishapeeth.

Mahishasur was a formidable demon who was granted immortality by Lord Brahma on the condition that he could only be defeated by an unmarried lady.

Mahishasur began to terrorise the Earth and the Gods . To deal with the demon, all of the Gods pooled their resources and formed a Devi to help them defeat him.

All Gods bestowed various types of weaponry on the Devi. When Mahishasur was attracted by Devi’s amazing beauty and proposed to her, she accepted. Devi informed him that if he could overcome her, she would marry him.

There was fight between the Devi and the Demon. Devi overcame the demon and removed both of his eyes during the struggle. This prompted the Gods to joyfully say “Jai Naina,” thus the name.

And Sikh Guru Shri Gobind Singh Ji is linked to yet another narrative. In 1756, before embarking on his military campaign against the Mughals, he performed a Sacrificial Yagna to seek the Goddess’s blessings. After receiving the blessings, he was able to beat the Mughals.

After marriage, the king took his son in law blindfolded to the spot in the cave to see the god he was worshiping.
