Sri Sigandur chowdeshwari temple is one of the most significant Shri Kshetra temples in South Karnataka.
It is located in the backwaters of the Sharavati River and must be crossed by a launch or boat, which is the shortest method.
The longest path is a road that crosses the backwaters all the way.
The temple complex is very well organized, with waiting rooms to handle the crowd.
It also includes many more facilities, such as a newly constructed Kalyana Mantapa and some new housing for piligrims. There is adequate parking for all vehicles.
The office where you book the sevas or darshanas is also useful and will supply you with all of the information.
After the darshana, you can go to the anna prasadam (prasada in the form of a complimentary lunch provided by the temple) and had a good meal.
They also serve anna prasadam for breakfast and dinner at scheduled times.
Overall you should visit the temple if you are on a trip to Shivamoga.
