About Ma Pratyangira devi
It is said that Ma Pratyangira devi is present everywhere. She is the protector of all living beings.
There are various theories about her actual origins, but according to the respected Puranas, the Mother Goddess erupted from the third eye of Sarabheswarar (Lord Shiva’s appearance) with 1,008 lion faces, 2,016 hands, and a blood-stained tongue jutting out.
Pratyangira energy manifests as a rapid and sometimes fierce current. Many Saints who have witnessed its energetic manifestation have characterised it as half lion and half human.
The lion’s head is male and its body is female, reflecting the union of Shiva and Shakti.
