Meenakshi Temple – A must visit temple on Bannerghatta Raod, Bengaluru

Friends, I happen to visit Shri Meenakshi Sundareshwara Temple which is located on Bannerghatta road. The temple is on the way to Bannerghatta National park and is a must visit if you are travelling towards Bannerghatta for a visit.

This beautiful temple is around 15kms from Bengaluru city center. Banerghatta is a very popular tourist spot and this temple is on the way to Bannerghatta and is just on the main road.

Hence this temple is easily accessible.

About Shri Meenakshi Sundareshwara Temple

In the presence of the Guru Sri Tirchi Mahaswamy, this temple was built in 1993 by Sri.Narayana Reddy. The temple’s massive Gopuram features amazing carvings.

Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareshwara, a manifestation of Lord Shiva, are worshipped here.

The tenple also has the idols of Navagraha, Lord Ganesha, Lord AyyapaSwamy, Lord Subramanya, lord Chandikeshwara, Lord Hanuman, Surya, Chandra, and Lord Venkateshwara.

  • Temple is open between 06:30 AM to 12:30 PM in the morning and between 04:00 PM to 08:30 PM at evening
  • The temple is open on all days.
  • Abhishekam time
    • 07:00 to 08:30 in the morning.
    • 05:00 to 06:00 PM in the evening.

Another good thing is that , just in the from of Meekashi Temple, you will also see Royal Meenakshi Mall which is quite a big mall in that area and can be a nice visit for kids. It has lot of shopping and food options.

So do plan tp visit the temple and also can plan for mall visit.


So how to reach Shri Meenakshi Temple.

The temple is located on Bannerghatta Main road and hence it is very much accessible.

There are direct buses from different parts of Bangalore going to Bannerghatta. Also you can come to Silk Board bus stop and then take bus, auto or taxi from there.

So the temple is quite easily accessible.

Also note that parking is available in front of the temple, but temple is quite crowded over the weekends and hence parking can be a challenge.

So you can also park you car in the mall and walk down to the temple. The walking distance is approximately 250 meters.

This temple is around 10kms before the Bannerghatta zoo and Shri Champak Dham Swamy temple.

So if you plan early you can actually cover other temples and Bannerghatta Zoo in a single day.
