1) Birla Mandir

With a white imposing structure, Birla mandir surely attracts passer by. The temple was built by Swami Ranganathananda of Ramakrishna Mission.

This 200ft high temple is situated on top of Kala Pahad.

One of the new temples of India and one among the series of Birla Mandir’s across country this temple is one of the must visits if you are in town.

The main attraction of the temple is the 11 feet tall granite idol of deity Lord Venkateswara with a carved lotus forming an umbrella on the top.

2) ISKCON Temple

Who does not know about ISKCON. The magnificent temple of ISKCON Hyderabad, dedicated to Lord Krishna was inaugurated by Swami Prabhupada himself.

The temple is a center for educational, cultural and social activities.

You will see bhajans being played through out the day and special poojas are performed during morning and evenings.

This is another modern temple dedicated to Lord Jagannath. We all have heard of Lord Jagannatha temple at Puri in Odisha. It is said to replica of Shri Jagannath temple in Puri.

Like Sri Jagannatha temple in Puri, this temple in hyderabad is also famous for annual rath yatra and is celebrated in a grand way by the Odiya community of Hyderabad.

The temple was built in 2009 and is located at the Banjara Hills, center of the city.

This temple is a bit far from main city, but a very famous temple and popular among people seeking foreign visa. It is one of the unique temples of India.

The temple is situated in Chilkur, a small beautiful village around 30 Kms from Hyderabad.

The temple is quite a old temple and is said to be more than 500 years old.

A fine example of fine temple architecture of India, this temple is visited by thousands of people and should be a must visit if you are in Hyderabad

This temple claims not to accept any money from devotees visiting. This temple doesn’t have any green channel or extra privileges for VIP’s making it a special one.

One of the similar kinds of the temple is located in Virpur (Rajkot), by the name of Jalabram temple. Located at a distance of 30 km from the main city this temple has a very pleasing architecture.

5) Ratnalayam Temple

Ratnalayam temple is also one of the most famous temples near Hyderabad. This temple is dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara and also to Goddess Padmawati and Goddess Andal.

The temple has a main big hall where you can see devotees chanting Vishnu Sahashranamam (1000 names for lord Vishnu). This hall is used for meditation.

Located at a distance of around 30 kms from city center, this will be a nice one day temple trip for you.

The temple is located on the banks of Musi River in Jiyaguda. This 300 year old temple, is said to be constructed by Samartha Ramdas Swami, the Guru of Chhatrapati Shivaji.

It is said that this place is related to the period of Ramayana. As per mythology, during his search for Ma Sita, Lord Hanuman visited this place and at this place he worshipped Lord Ram. Hence Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated at a grand scale here. It attracts devotees in large numbers.
